FCP 10.2.3 and ADVC110?

I am using FCP 10.2.3 on a MacBook Pro which has a Firewire port. I attached the Firewire cable to both the ADVC 110 and the MacBook Pro and everything worked right away last night. Decided to start transferring 8 mm tape (old Hitachi) via the ADVC110 using the Firewire cable this morning. Nothing worked! Could not get the MacBook Pro (2012) using FCP 10.2.3 to recognize the Canopus 110. I tried the above with my old MacPro tower (2007) using BOTH FCP 10.2.3 as well as Final Cut Pro 7 and neither would recognize the ADVC110. I hooked up the Canopus 110 and the 8 mm camera to my TV and everything looked perfect. I have tried three different Firewire cables with no change in results. It is really strange because the MacBook Pro recognized the Canopus 110 right away and was playing the 8 mm tape with FCP 10.2.3. Any ideas on how I can get this working again would be greatly appreciated!
